The University of Sheffield, in partnership with the Yorkshire and Humber Postgraduate Deanery and the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has developed an exciting pathway of academic clinical training opportunities.

 

Applications are invited for three new National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Lecturer posts within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry & Health. These new posts have been created as part of the Modernising Medical Careers (MMC)/ National Co-ordinating Centre for Research Capacity (NCCRCD) programme of Integrated Academic Training and offer candidates a comprehensive experience of clinical academic medicine working alongside internationally renowned clinicians

and researchers.

 

We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals wishing to excel in both their clinical and academic training and who have the ambition to be the next generation of world-leading academic clinicians.

 

One of the posts will be in:

- Neurology (please see separate advert – reference UOS000913)

 

The remaining two posts will be appointed in the following specialties, dependent on applications received:

 

- Obstetrics & Gynaecology

 *Please note there is only one post available and candidates should apply only for the post for which they wish to be considered. Applications for both posts will not be accepted.

 

The duration of the Clinical Lectureships is for a maximum of 4 years or until CCT is reached, whichever is sooner.  Applicants must be able to demonstrate evidence of academic achievement and have successfully completed a PhD/MD. They will also be eligible to hold an NTN or may already hold an NTN, having undertaken some training at Specialty Registrar level or equivalent. The post-holder will spend 50% of their time in clinical training and 50% undertaking research and academic training.
